PALO ALTO, California, October 4, 2021.
Stovaris, Teradici’s primary partner in Poland, announces that HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) announced the completion of its acquisition of Teradici Corporation, a global developer of remote computing software that enables users to securely access high-performance computing solutions. Teradici developed the PCoIP remote computing protocol, which delivers access to PCs and workstations located in a data centre or public cloud to end users.
New opportunities
The acquisition will enhance HP’s capabilities in the personal systems category by providing software-enabled digital services tailored for hybrid computing. HP already has the software in place and the combination with Teradici’s remote access solution will enable HP to offer a broader remote computing platform, combining on-premises and cloud solutions from any type of device, including macOS, iOS and Android tablets and the public cloud. The company also announced the delivery of new computing models and services tailored for hybrid workloads.
„This agreement supports our broader strategy to innovate by creating new computing environments, services and subscriptions that meet evolving customer needs and drive profitable growth.”
Growing interest in remote working
The market is seeing a growing trend of hybrid working, which is already becoming the norm. It is estimated that around 67 percent of employees will work remotely at least three days a week. Furthermore, remote desktop software is a large and growing segment that is forecast to grow at an average rate of 17 per cent per year until 2028.
