SK hynix Inc. teatas detsembri lõpus, et on lõpetanud Hiinas asuva Inteli NAND-mälu ja pooljuhtketta (SSD) äri- ja tootmisüksuse Dalian NAND-välkmälu omandamise esimese etapi. See saabus pärast seda, kui ühinemine sai Hiina tururegulatsiooni riiklikult administratsioonilt heakskiidu – SK hynix nõustus kolimise eest maksma 7 miljardit USA dollarit.

Tehingu teises etapis omandab SK hynix Intelilt ülejäänud NAND-äriga seotud varad, sealhulgas NAND-välkmälu tootmise ja disainiga seotud intellektuaalomandi. Ettevõte omandab ka osa Daliani tehase teadus- ja arendustöötajaid, töötajaid ning muud sellega seotud materiaalset ja immateriaalset vara. Teine etapp suletakse eeldatavasti 2025. aasta märtsis, ülejäänud 2 miljardi USA dollari suurune makse viib kogu tehingu lõpule.

Äsja omandatud SSD äri hakkab juhtima vastloodud Solidigm, mille peakontor asub Californias San Joses. Ettevõte hakkab tootma ja müüma SK hynixi soetatud lahendusi. Tehingu lõpuleviimisel saab selle tegevesimeheks Lee Seok-hee (praegune president ja tegevjuht). Solidigmi tegevjuhi kohale asub endine Inteli vanemasepresident Rob Crooke.

The Vertiv Annual Channel Summit 2021 took place on Wednesday (17.11). Apart from interesting panels, masses of knowledge and a competition in which one could win, among others, a Playstation 5 console, there was also a ceremony to announce the winners of the plebiscite summing up the year 2021.

We were awarded in one of seven categories, for the most innovative marketing campaign of the year. In the end, however, the competition was won by the Russian company RRC, which we warmly congratulate.

New Storage Top-Loading and Simply Double platforms

SuperMicro has announced the release of 60- and 90-disk plarforms and Simply Double systems (24x 3.5″ in 2U) optimised for the latest generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor and NVMe PCIE 4.0 drives.

With 60 or 90 slots, the top-loading systems are available in single-node, dual-node and dual-node HA options. With the new systems, customers can exploit the full potential offered by the SAS controller PCIE 4.0 RAID or IT mode. The height of these rack solutions is 4U and they support 60 and 90 slots for 2.5″ and 3.5″ SAS3/SATA3 plus two m.2 PCIe on the motherboard and two internal SATA SSD slots. Single-node systems of course support mirror OS via two 2.5″ hot-swap slots at the rear and optionally four NVMe U.2 available as an option for single and Dual-node systems.
